Frequently asked questions

Take a look at some of the questions we're regularly asked about our construction training courses. For progressive training and recognised industry qualifications, contact Century Training Academy in Great Yarmouth.

How long are your courses?
Depending on the course that you have enrolled on, courses can run for 5 days (intensive training) through to 2 years on a part-time basis.

Do I need to bring my own tools and what clothing do I wear?
No. All tools and materials are provided for you. You will need to wear clothes that are not restricting. Old clothing is best. We will advise you what to wear at your induction.

On some courses we can provide you with your own free PPE Kit (Personal Protective Equipment Kit), however, if we cannot provide this, you are able to purchase a full PPE Kit from us before the start of the course.

Do I need previous qualifications to enrol on the courses?
None of our courses, at any level, require you to have previous qualifications.

How many people do you have on your courses?
Most courses run with a minimum of 8 learners and a maximum of 12. We have found that by keeping classes at these numbers, we can provide you with an opportunity to maximise your learning.

What do the course fees cover, and are there any additional costs?
The course fees cover all training and assessment fees, registration, examination and certification costs. All materials and hand-outs needed for your course are also included. There are no hidden or additional costs to pay.

Do you accept payment by credit or debit card?
Yes! We accept payments by debit card, MasterCard and Visa.

Is there anywhere to park my car near the centre?
There is free parking on-site.

What happens if I need to re-sit an examination?
We usually only enter you into an exam where we feel that you are competent and ready. If you need to re-sit the exam, then for a small fee, we can arrange it.

Do your courses lead to recognised qualifications?
Yes. All our courses are nationally recognised qualifications, as we are fully accredited with awarding bodies including NOCN (National Open College Network) and Gateway Qualification.

How do I enrol in one of your courses?
If you are looking to apply for one our courses, please telephone our centre manager Steve Black or download our Application Form (PDF). Once completed, you can either post back to us or bring it to the academy.
